授課題目：新藥開發概論 (Introduction: Novel Drug R&D)

This talk will be an introduction of new drug discovery and development. The stages of drug discovery and development will be defined. The scope of the talk covers the concept, professional disciplines, core techniques, logistics of implementation, and career opportunities in drug discovery and development. The infrastructure and functions of the Institute of Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Research (IBPR) of the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI) will be introduced. A few examples of the drug discovery and development projects ongoing in the preclinical and clinical studies in NHRI will be presented.
